The Right Rev. Eugene Taylor Sutton, Bishop of Maryland,  has closed all churches in our diocese in an effort to coordinate with public health officials and help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus mirroring the closing of Maryland public schools from March 16-27.
Here is what that means for us at St. Martin’s:
  • All church worship services are cancelled. Join us for worship Sundays via live streaming. Click here for details on how to do that.
  • All church programs are cancelled–with the exception of Winter Shelter this week (read below for details about how you can help). This means no Sunday School, Youth programs, Adult Education, Lenten programs on Wednesday and Thursday nights, no choir rehearsals, no bible studies or small group meetings.
  • The Parish Office will remain open with normal operating hours.
  • All 12 Step and support groups will also continue to meet.
  • Most outside groups will continue to meet on our campus at their discretion.

ART IN LENT: Intergenerational Activities

March 18 | March 25 | April 1
Even though we’re all at home on Wednesdays, there’s no reason why the Art of Lent can’t continue. You are most invited to make great use of the online materials centering on Jesus’ last words from the cross. Each session will include two coloring page files, and a devotion for the week. You can reflect on the devotion quietly as an individual, or reflect together as a family. And we’d love for you to send in your coloring creations, so we can share them online and continue to be in community together. May God bless and keep you. May the words of Jesus from the cross draw you closer to him and fill you with strength during these uncertain times.
~ Many blessings, The Rev. Nathan Erdman

Join us and explore how God takes the symbols of our Christian worship and makes them holy and extraordinary gifts: light, water, food, shelter, community. This interactive series, produced in partnership with Virginia Theological Seminary and the Episcopal brothers of The Society of Saint John the Evangelist, explores ways we can connect these symbols in our worship into our daily lives as we journey through the holy season of Lent.
