St. Martin’s Snow Closing Policy


Christian Education classes for all ages ~ 9:00-9:45 a.m.

Opportunities include: Adult Forum, The Bible Workbench, and Sunday School (Register for Child or Youth classes)

Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) ~ 5:00-7:00 p.m.

This month EYC is folding in with all the other great events happening in February.  Be sure to join us for Bingo! Night, and a field trip to Woods for a workshop on healthy relationships.  We will resume normal EYC times in March. For details about EYC, contact Rev. Rhetta.


Rite 13 Celebration ~ February 24

Join us on Sunday, February 24 during our 10:00 a.m. service as we honor our Rite 13 Celebrities, those who turn 13 this year. During the service, we will pray over and with them, acknowledging their transition to woman and manhood. Following the service, we will gather in the Parish Hall for refreshments to speak with and learn more about each of our “celebrities.” For questions or more information about Rite 13 or any please contact Rev. EYC – One Love Event ~ February 24

Attend a film and discussion event “How to Recognize and Respond to Unhealthy Relationships,” presented by OneLove. Appropriate for high school and college students, young adults and parents. Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Contact Rev. Rhetta.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper ~ March 5

To honor the tradition of using up eggs, butter and fat before Lent, we will gather for pancakes, our new this year pancake races, and more from 5:15 – 7:00 p.m. Around 6:00 p.m., we will have a family-friendly service to bury our “Alleluias” and burn the palms from last year for our ashes. Please bring any palms you have. The cost for the evening is $5/person, $20/family. Any questions, please contact Rev. Rhetta.

Ash Wednesday ~ March 6

Join us for services at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend the worship services, we will also be doing “Ashes to Go” from 7:30-9:00 a.m. on Benfield Road and in the church driveway. For more information contact Rev. Matthew.

Resting in God: The Art of Being, A Centering Prayer Retreat ~ March 9

Reflect on the nature of prayer as relationship with God, and explore the levels of relationship that you can grow into. Learn and practice centering prayer as a way of contemplation – being guided by the Spirit beyond thoughts, words and emotions. Led by Bishop Sutton. Begins at 9:00 a.m. in Parish Hall. Bishops’ Unplugged for Spring ~ March 9

Spend the afternoon with the bishop, and with youth from the region, in fellowship and fun. Young people, grades 6-12, gather from 3:00-5:00 p.m. for music, Bible study, and time to talk with Bishop Sutton. Cost is $5. Wednesday Eucharist in Lent ~ Begins March 13

Join us in the sanctuary on Wednesdays at noon during Lent for a simple service of Holy Eucharist.

Lenten Series ~ Begins March 13

Join us for the five Wednesday evenings in Lent from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Our intergenerational series will focus on the Stations of the Cross: Experiencing, Learning, Making and Living. Intended for people of all ages, we will gather for a potluck dinner with the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. Be on the lookout for sign ups for this family-friendly formation. Bible Challenge Group ~ Weekly on Tuesdays                   

All are welcome to join us as we begin year two of the challenge to read the Bible in chronological order. You don’t need to have been with us previously to join. We will be using The Chronological Study Bible and The Chronological Guide to the Bible; Explore God’s Word in Historical Order. All are welcome for Bible fellowship every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in St. Martin’s House. For questions and more details contact Cindy Neseth.

Choir Rehearsals ~ Weekly on Tuesdays & Thursdays

For those seeking to praise God through music, we invite you to join our choirs. We are friendly and supportive and would love to have you join us. We have rehearsals for Hand Bell Choir, Tuesday nights at 5:30 p.m. and Adult Choir, Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. If you are interested or would like more details, please contact the Director of Music Ministries, Dr. Hye Sung Hwang.

The Shepherd’s Group ~ Weekly on Thursdays

Contemporary Writers Book Group ~ BiWeekly on Wednesdays
The Contemporary Writers book group is starting a new  book The Hidden Gospel by Neil Douglas-Klatz, PhD, on Wednesday, January 16.  Moms In Prayer ~ Monthly on First Friday

During the school year join us as we lift our children and schools in prayer. We meet at 10:00 a.m. in the lower conference room of St. Martin’s house. All are welcome, we’d love for you to come. Questions? Feel free to ask Sarah Parkison.

Cursillo Ultreya ~ Monthly on Third Friday

Gathering of the St. Martin’s and St. Andrew’s Cursillo community and supporters. Usually includes music and refreshments. Join us in the church at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome, come check us out. Questions? Contact Wamahdri Williams.
