Our Minds Matter

Our Minds Matter (OMM) is a student run movement, established in 2019, that aims to make mental health resources more accessible in public schools, and to end the stigma surrounding mental health illnesses.

St. Martin’s is proud to support the important service work and ministry OMM provides our community and world. The movement has already done much during it’s short time, including the March for Our Minds walk to Severna Park High School, Mental Health Rally in Annapolis, Talk Saves Lives Suicide Prevention discussion event, Wellness Festival at St. Martin’s-in-the-Field church, and they participated in the Annapolis Walk Out of the Darkness event at the Naval Academy.

Our Minds Matter was honored by the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism in the inaugural Youth Service Awards ceremony on August 21, 2019. 10 individuals and 3 groups out of 160+ applicants were honored for their significant community service in Maryland. For details take a look at the article published in the Severna Park Voice, the press release from the Governor’s Office , and the video from WBAL.
