At St. Martin’s, our worship is traditional and engaging. We offer two Eucharists every Sunday, each with their own characteristics. Both services include a sermon and allow for lay participation in various ways.
How we worship at St. Martin’s-in-the-Field
8:00 A.M. Worship
10:00 A.M. Worship
The Rite II service uses contemporary language and features musical accompaniment from our Director of Music Ministries, choir, and, on occasion, bell choir.
During the 10:00 a.m. service, young children are invited to participate in a Children’s Chapel in the Parish Hall during the sequence hymn. They return at the Peace. Also at this service our clergy are assisted by acolytes, a verger, a lay server, and a chalicist. Lay people read the lessons and lead the Prayers of the People. Our A/V team livestreams this service each week.
St. Martin’s is primarily a Prayer Book parish. Most Sundays, our entire service can be found in either The Book of Common Prayer or The Hymnal, 1982. However, we do include hymns from LEVAS and other sources on a regular basis.
